Brandi & Rob ~ E-Session!

One of the best things about Hamilton that not many people take advantage of is the 160+ waterfalls that this city boasts! So when a engagement session comes up even in the worst weather situation i always recommend it.

Congrats Brandi & Rob I can’t wait till your wedding in a couple month!

their daughter Jocelyn is honestly one of the cutest babies EVER!

Christina & Kyle ~ Engagement

This engagement shoot did not go exactly as planned.. actually ended up in tragedy not for any of us but for my camera!! Story… Already my start of the day off to a intense shock (more about that soon..) We decided to go to this old restaurant for the engagement photos so I knew there would be some very dim lighting so of course I packed up my tripod and put on the tripod mount (the piece that screws into your camera) and I never use my tripod EVER. So we were doing the shoot and I’m very active and directing and thinking creatively, anyway so we ran outside to do some shots as a couple employees tried to figure out how to turn on the fireplace for us and were out there and I’m getting into my zone and not thinking straight (more about that soon..) I saw a shot in my head so I quickly put my camera down on one of the tables nearby on the patio took a half a step away and I saw it in the corner of my eye.. yup camera falling.. like it was slow motion to the ground…bam! lens back to canon for repairs.ouch! Couldn’t believe it  I mean me using a tripod is craziness and having that mount on my camera that made my camera fall is craziness and the fact my brain and thoughts of just finding out an hour before the shoot we were pregnant!! was craziness!!! hah serves me right for not breathing after shocking and great news.

Bared the freezing water for a couple great shots!

Our top 10 favs – Engagement shot 2010

there are so many reasons why I love shooting an engagement couple, other than it being so much fun, not being rushed, gives me time to get creative, build relationships and the best part for them is to be together!

Here is just a very small fraction of our ‘favorites’ for this year.

Albion Waterfalls – Christmas Illumination

I posted a couple weeks back that I would post some night illumination of Albion falls well City of waterfalls was putting on a special Christmas lighting of the falls tonight, it was soo cool and freezing I lost a glove and I still can’t feel my buns!

Albion Falls, Hamilton

I have always just wanted to come back to Albion just to take pictures of the falls itself. I have been here on numerous occasions typically for Weddings and Engagement shoots, so on my way to my parents, I decided to stop for a few minutes and shoot this beast of a waterfall! even though Hamilton is the waterfall capital of the world! hosting 125 within the city, Albion has to be easily one of my favorites (note: I’ve only seen about a dozen or less…lol) not only can you get right close to the falls but for most of the year it is only about half a foot deep, which is awesome for engagements cause we can take off our shoes and roll up our pants and get right in there!

Stay tuned for pictures of illumination of Albion at night.
